This course is designed to invite Tassie’s guides to delve into lutruwita’s beautiful, brutal, and complex Aboriginal past, present, and future. The content is specifically tailored for guides to ensure we are equipped with the appropriate tools on how to interpret Palawa/Pakana culture pre/post invasion within the Tasmanian guiding context. The course is delivered with a holistic learning approach, combining indoor theory and practical lessons as well as time on Country.
One of the core principles of the Tasmanian Wilderness Guides Association is to promote education, interpretation and community awareness on lutruwita/Tasmania's first nations heritage.
We feel that it is important that all Tasmanian guides are able to acknowledge and deepen their understanding on lutruwita's Aboriginal past, present and future.
NITA Education are an Aboriginal owned and operated provider. They run honest courses that create a meaningful space to share knowledge, ask questions and learn about lutruwita/Tasmania's rich Aboriginal culture and its history.
This course is aimed at guides and is available to TWGA members; ordinary, associate or corporate.
