The wilderness of lutruwita/Tasmania is a unique place.
The TWGA represent the people who make their livelihood in the wild places of lutruwita/Tasmania, as part of the outdoor industry. Over the past decades there has been an increasing disconnect between the tourism industry as a whole and views of people working in the remote areas of Tasmania. This Association is an attempt to bridge that gap.
"Is there any reason why Tasmania should not be more beautiful on the day we leave it, than on the day we came?...If we can revise our attitudes towards the land under our feet; if we can accept a role of steward and depart from the role of conqueror, if we can accept that man and nature are inseparable parts of the unified whole, then Tasmania can be a shining beacon in a dull, uniform and largely artificial world."
